Their Mission is to design & create advanced Nano Sensing IoT Devices integrated with proprietary Artificial Intelligence Software capabilities, to Monitor and Control the Indoor Farming environment, targeting Micro Farmers, Agro Business and indoor controlled space farming for the future.

Customer Expectations

Shrimp farmers need to maintain a very strict ambient environmental parameter like Temperature, Dissolved Oxygen,PH level etc. The client needed an IoT Solution that will maintain and display below enlisted parameters in one central system:

Dissolved oxygen (DO)

The suggested level of dissolved oxygen for shrimps is equal or higher than 5 ppm.Ā 

PH

Advised pH for water in shrimp ponds is pH = 7.2-8.8. The best suggested value is from 7.8 ā€“ 8.5. pH fluctuation during a day time should not overshoot 0.5.Ā 

Water Temperature

Shrimp and fish are essentially cold-blooded species (poikilotherm). Their temperature changes according to exposure to external environment.

The Challenges

  • The Biggest & Most important challenge in the entire system is to manage and maintain the battery power though complete system required to be fully submerged in between the Pond. Therefore, because of not having any recharging option for battery, we introduced charging through solar mechanism but in that also various sub-challenges faced at system level because entire unit working on GSM which consumes the most power at the peak so to overcome those challenges smart battery/power management system introduced at both hardware & hardware software level.
  • In addition to that, In PH Sensor, to acquire the weak signal and amplify that signal was a difficult task.
  • The value of PH sensor output lies in between positive vector as well as negative vector. It was necessary to shift negative values to the positive was a tedious task.
  • With temperature change the calibration parameters of Dissolve Oxygen (DO) also changes so data stability was one of the parameter that was difficult to maintain.
