DIOT BOX

DIOT box collects data from any machine PLC or Non PLC based using I/O or machine specific protocol such as FOCAS, OPC-UA, MT connect or so and process, store and send that data securely to the FactoryMetrics platform using GSM (4G), Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

Yes, it works with any PLC/Non-PLC machines.
There are two aspects of collecting data from machines:

  • Collect data using I/O pins of plc/controller
  • Collect data using protocols like OPC-UA/FOCAS/ MT-Connect/Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, Profinet and so.

Data collection method completely depending on the type of the machines.

We need machine availability (30-60 mins) with avg. internet connectivity with couple of sites/ports bypassed through company’s firewall (if any). that’s it.
At every level of data communication right from machine-to-device, device-to-server and server-to-front end we take care of security very seriously with industry grade of encryption.
In case of unavailability of internet, device can act as a data logger and store data up to 3 months which can be retrieved once internet comes back to cloud without loss of any data.

All data transfer is encrypted – whether from Machine to IoT Device to Server to Mobile App/Dashboard, absolutely nothing goes over the network or local without encryption. UMM uses 256-bit AES, supports TLS 1.2 for all of your messages. We monitor the security community’s output closely and work promptly to upgrade the service to respond to new vulnerabilities as they are discovered.
Our servers are located in Amazon’s AWS data centers. UMM uses four availability zones within AWS’ us-east-1 region, all located in Mumbai  (India). AWS has devoted an entire portion of their site to explaining their security measures, which you can find here: https://aws.amazon.com/compliance/
We guarantee that UMM will be available 99.5% of the time in a given billing cycle during office hours. Unavailability means that UMM returns a server error response to a valid user request or data stored with UMM becomes inaccessible during two or more consecutive 90 second intervals. Unavailability due to scheduled maintenance is excluded from these conditions and does not contribute towards unavailability calculations.
All UMM customer data is hosted on multi-master shared databases so that there are no interruptions to service in the event of a single server outage. Hot spares of all our infrastructure components are running and available to be brought into rotation at all times.
